In the current context, the influence of Spanish on American English is increasingly palpable, giving rise to the emergence of the linguistic phenomenon known as Spanglish. There is an author who said that "English and Spanish have been doing a dance with one another in the United States since the colonial period".

When I read this, I found it very interesting to highlight how Spanish and English mix to create something new and unique. Spanglish is not only a way of speaking, but also an expression of our cultural identity that shows us how linguistic diversity can bring people together and create a sense of community. More than words, Spanglish is a way of life that reflects the richness and complexity of our multicultural society.

This type of reading makes me think about how the merger of Spanish and English gives rise to new dialects such as Spanglish, illustrating the continuing evolution of language. It also made me reflect on the power of language to connect people and shape our perception of identity and belonging in multicultural societies.
